Hey Kids

This week is all about - how we are happy when we are humble. Jesus tells us that those who are humble are happy and that the earth will belong to them.

What does Humble mean?

Explore the activities on this page and see if you can discover for yourself what being humble is. Let us know what you discover. Our contact details are at the end of the page when you are ready to share.

God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth. Matthew 5:5 NLT

It’s tough to try and feel good when you are feeling sad on the inside. Sometimes everything goes wrong and we feel like giving up. The beatitudes were given to us from Jesus to remind us that he is always with us even if it feels like we are alone. He promises to never leave us or forget us.

When we live with Jesus love in our heart and we know his promises are true, we can sing “It is Well with my soul,” and believe every word.

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought. Matthew 5:5 (The Message)

Jesus loves us more than we can ever know. When we know that with all our heart that feeling can never be taken away from us.

Love builds over and over and over into something beautiful. Content and happy.

As you make this valentine wreath know that Jesus love is made to be treasured and shared, over and over and over again.

Build an obstacle course. Get some ideas on what to use from this video.

Time how fast you can successfully complete your course.

Humility or being humble is trying your best without boasting about it to everyone else.

It's knowing that God gave us the energy to do what we have just done and that we can do nothing without him. This puts all of our achievements in perspective. Rather than thinking about how great we are we can see how Great God is and thank Him always.

Watch this video and guess the feelings.

Can you think of words to describe all the emotions that you have just seen? Sometimes we don’t have the words to describe how we are feeling.

Jesus knows how we are feeling and why we feel that way even we we don’t know ourselves. Sometimes we just feel really horrible or sick to the stomach and we don’t know why. Jesus does and He waits for us to ask him for help.

Try talking to Jesus about how you are feeling, he is always listening and he knows exactly how to help.

Play - The Cheer Up Game

Click on the link above to find out how to play The Cheer up game.

Can you tell how someone is feeling by the expression on their face? Can you tell when someone is feeling sad?

Sometimes we hide when we are sad.

Jesus knows when we are sad. Jesus knows what it feels like to be sad too. Our words to remember for this week tell us that when we are sad we will be comforted.

If you are feeling sad right now, Close your eyes, take a few big deep breathes in and out. Jesus knows our heart. He knows when we are happy and sad. He loves us so much that when we are sad he is sad too. He wants nothing more than to give us a big hug.

I like hugs, do you like hugs too?

Play - Leap Frog Relay.

If you have never played leapfrog before, watch these two videos to see how to play the game.

For this game to work everyone needs to make themselves as small as possible for the leaper to get over and make it to the end. They in turn do the same, so the people coming behind can leap over them to get to the end.

I think that this is what being humble is all about.

Are we prepared to make ourselves smaller so someone else can be in the race too?
