Hey Kids
This week is all about - God knowing when we are sad and that he wants to comfort us.
Bible Texts - Matthew 5:4
Elijah Helps a Widow-I kings 17:8-16-The Beginners Bible
God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matt 5:4 NLT
It’s tough to try and feel good when you are feeling sad on the inside. Sometimes everything goes wrong and we feel like giving up. The beatitudes were given to us from Jesus to remind us that he is always with us even if it feels like we are alone. He promises to never leave us or forget us.
When we live with Jesus love in our heart and we know his promises are true, we can sing “It is Well with my soul,” and believe every word.
There is nothing like a hug to make us feel a little bit better when we are feeling sad.
Are you good at giving hugs?
Make - A Paper Hug and give it to someone who you think might like a hug today.
To make this paper hug you will need to follow these instructions.
Materials required 1 x A4 coloured card
2 x A4 coloured paper
1 x love heart with treasure verse
Scissors
Gluestick
Pencil
Instructions
1. Fold the A4 card on the 1st and 3rd quarter lines in landscape, so that the edges meet in the center.
2. Cut out the heart on the love heart treasure verse.
3. Glue the treasure verse love heart in the centre of the A4 card.
4. Take both A4 sheets of paper and fold in half
5. Using a pencil trace your hand on the folded paper, do the same again on the other A4 sheet with your other hand. You should now have 4 hand shapes.
6. Glue the hands back to back on the front and inside of the card on the folded quarter, the hands look like they are hugging the love heart when you close and open the card.
Watch this video and guess the feelings.
Can you think of words to describe all the emotions that you have just seen? Sometimes we don’t have the words to describe how we are feeling.
Jesus knows how we are feeling and why we feel that way even we we don’t know ourselves. Sometimes we just feel really horrible or sick to the stomach and we don’t know why. Jesus does and He waits for us to ask him for help.
Try talking to Jesus about how you are feeling, he is always listening and he knows exactly how to help.

Can you tell how someone is feeling by the expression on their face? Can you tell when someone is feeling sad?
Sometimes we hide when we are sad.
Jesus knows when we are sad. Jesus knows what it feels like to be sad too. Our words to remember for this week tell us that when we are sad we will be comforted.
If you are feeling sad right now, Close your eyes, take a few big deep breathes in and out. Jesus knows our heart. He knows when we are happy and sad. He loves us so much that when we are sad he is sad too. He wants nothing more than to give us a big hug.
I like hugs, do you like hugs too?
We would love to see you playing, trying, making and sharing! Please share your photos with your KellyvilleKids community in our WhatsApp Group. If you’re new to our KellyvilleKids community and would like to stay connected, contact us.
