Hey Kids

This week is all about - Joy. Joy comes when we know love. Love and Joy are best friends, they go everywhere together. Gods love never fails and that means joy is always there, even when things are really bad.

Bible Texts -

Galatians 5:22-23 | Acts 16:16-34 | Habakkuk 3:17-19

Squad Kids - How do you feel when everything seems to be going wrong? Do you get mad and angry. Paul was an angry man until he met Jesus. Meeting Jesus will change you from the inside out. See how he changed Paul in our videos for this week.

Paul and Silas were full of joy even though everything around them was very tough. How did they do that?

Can we do the same thing when we are having a tough time? What did they do while they were in Jail in the middle of the night?

Maybe next time we are having a tough time we can be like Paul & Silas.

Tribe Kids Connect - What does the bible tell us about Joy?

Habakkuk 3:17-19

Fig trees may not grow figs.

There may be no grapes on the vines.

There may be no olives growing on the trees.

There may be no food growing in the fields.

There may be no sheep in the pens.

There may be no cattle in the barns.

18 But I will still be glad in the Lord.

I will rejoice in God my Savior.

19 The Lord God gives me my strength.

He makes me like a deer, which does not stumble.

He leads me safely on the steep mountains.

Can we rewrite this for 2020?

There may be no toilet paper in the shops.

There may be no pasta on the shelves.

Can you think of any more?

What has not been there for us and yet we will still choose to be glad in the Lord?

How does he make us strong and where is he leading us?

Watch the story of Paul and Silas and see how they chose to be filled with joy.

MAKE // Continuous Weave Macrame
The fruit of the spirit describes the character of God. These nine virtues weave together in our heart and in our actions  to make lovely people, lovely families and lovely communities.

Have a try at this activity and imagine how love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control weave together like the wool does. You have to choose to take hold of the wool and begin to weave. Just like we take hold of Jesus' hand and let his love weave into our everyday. Make something beautiful.

Imprinting Air Dry Clay

What kind of impression do we make? These cute plates with leaves pressed into them see how easy it is to leave a lasting impression. When we live love and serve we can be sure that the impression we leave is an eternal one. Get into this activity and make a gift for someone you love.

Spot the Stars

When the sun goes go down go outside and see how many stars, satellites or planets you can see from your house.

You might like to take a blanket and some snacks and have a night time picnic.

How amazing is the night sky? Know that Jesus sees us exactly where we are and his love for us is as big as the universe.

Spot Light Hidee

To play this game you will need a torch and a dark space.

Hide in the dark, in your back yard or a room with the lights turned out.

Whoever is doing the finding uses a torch to spot the kids who are hiding.

Take turns at finding and hiding.

How much easier is it to see with the torch on?

Love is a torch that Jesus has given us. He wants us to let it shine where ever we are.

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. [Psalm 16:11, NIV]
