What’s Happening -
We choose who we want to follow. Joshua led the Israelites and Jesus is describing to his disciples what a life of following him will be like. What does a life following Jesus look like, sound like and feel like? Let’s find out this week as we explore Matthew 16:13-26 and the story of Joshua and the battle of Jericho.
Words To Remember
Playhouse -Be strong and courageous! The Lord is with you wherever you go! Joshua 1:9
Treehouse -“And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” Matthew 16:18.
This is for all the kids who love to dance. Check out this song and have a praise party at your house.

Peter bravely followed Jesus. Here are just a few of the things he did. You can read about Peter's time with Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
Playhouse
Act out the battle of Jericho at home.
Use pillows and cushions to build the wall and
blow your trumpets as you walk around the wall and then
knock down your wall on the seventh time around the wall.

TREEHOUSE KIDS Let's make a kite. Click on this link for instructions for a paper kite. Or watch the video above for a plastic kite.
There are all sorts of kites. No matter what sort of kite they are, they all need wind to fly.
It is the wind that lifts them high.
This is what love does for us.
Love lifts us so we can live and love others. Love is the best gift that Jesus has given us to share.Let love fly high in your heart and in your home.
PLAYHOUSE KIDS Check out this link and build the wall of Jericho out of Duplo. Use the trumpet from our make activity to play out the story of Joshua and the battle of Jericho.
Treehouse kids If you have made your kite take it out for a fly. Before you do, make sure there are no power lines close by and that the wind is blowing. Check with an adult to make sure it is a safe place to fly. You may need some help to get your kite in the air. Ask a friend to help and keep trying, because like most things, kite flying takes practice to get good at it.
