Hey Kids
This week is all about - This week is all about how we are free to choose, and Paul says that we should choose to love each other.
Key Text & Stories -Galatians 5:1-15
Playhouse - God Makes A Way - The Bible App For Kids
What’s Happening - We are almost at the end of the letter to the Galatians. In chapter five Paul explains that you either believe in the power of Jesus to set us free from sin or you believe that keeping the law will set you free from sin. You can’t believe both.
Words to Remember - Treehouse
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

Have you ever played Monopoly?
One of my favourite things about monopoly is the get out of Jail free card. This card means you don't have to go to jail and miss your turns, when you land on the Go Directly to Jail space.
What is your favourite game and why?
In Galatians Chapter 5 Paul is telling us that we are free because of Christ. Read the text and see what Paul says.
5 We have freedom now because Christ made us free. So stand strong. Do not change and go back into the slavery of the law.
Watch The Bunny Is Free
Can you imagine the bunny running back up the pipe?
Worse still can you imagine the bunny going over to the Rabbit Burrow and convincing his friends to go and run up the pipe too? No absolutely not!
Imagine the pipe is the law that Paul is talking about. Yes, the pipe kept the bunny safe from the dogs but there was no way of escaping until Rod came and took the pipe away from the dogs and set the bunny free. The pipe was a place for the bunny to hide, not a place for him to live.
Paul is encouraging the people to live in freedom.
Let's read on from verse 13.
13 My brothers, God called you to be free. But do not use your freedom as an excuse to do the things that please your sinful self. Serve each other with love. 14 The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”[b] 15 If you go on hurting each other and tearing each other apart, be careful! You will completely destroy each other.
How can we help build each other up?
We started with talking about playing a new game. How do you want to play? Are you more interested in knowing all the rules or are you excited to share your new game?
Know that Jesus has won the game of life for us, by beating death. Jesus died but death could not hold him down. He wants us to play the game of life in love where ever we are.
This is what Paul means when he says we live in God’s promise of Jesus.
Jesus came to set us free, to be who he designed us to be and all he asks is, are we thankful? If we are thankful — love him and each other.
Human Knot.
Try this with your family and friends. Work together to untangle your group
A Family Tree
Jesus calls us to be part of his family, to build a place where everyone is welcome.. Instead of only putting the family that we are born into on the tree add in all the people that you love. Imagine God's family tree, full of all the people that he loves. How big do you think God’s tree is? Printable family tree
Treehouse kids - 3D hand
Using a grey lead pencil lightly outline your hand on a piece of paper.
You can use a ruler or draw freehand a straight line from the edge of the paper to the outline of your hand. Draw a semicircle curve that you will follow for the rest of your hand, just like the picture. The tricky part is when you get to the fingers.
Play this game with your family or friends. Encourage each other to keep going and to try again even if you keep getting knocked down. Having a friend who cheers you on is the best.
I Spy
What do we choose to see? Jesus looks on us with love. This means he is cheering us on to do good things, not waiting for us to do something wrong. This week let’s learn to look on our family friends and the people we meet with love.
I spy is a guessing game where one player chooses an object within sight and announces to the other players that "Eye spy with my little eye, something beginning with...", naming the first letter of the object. Other players attempt to guess this object.
Stuck in the Mud
So often we get stuck in a way of thinking or in a bad place and we can’t get out. Remembering how much Jesus loves us is just like someone setting us free in this game of stuck in the mud. Every time you set someone free know that this is what Jesus has done for us for ever!
How to play:
Choose one player to be in.
The player who is in must run around and tag as many other players as they can.
When tagged, a player becomes 'stuck in the mud', they cannot move and must stand with their legs and arms apart.
The only way to be freed is for a non-tagged player to crawl through their legs.
We would love to see you playing, trying, making and sharing! Please share your photos with your KellyvilleKids community in our WhatsApp Group. If you’re new to our KellyvilleKids community and would like to stay connected, contact us.
